Activities

Paloma Choir

Paloma is proud to offer a free after-school music performing group to our fourth and fifth grade students. There will be two separate sessions for the school year; fall and spring semesters. Students will meet once a week. Students will experience singing in a large group in a variety of styles, including world music, popular music, and folk songs. Students will learn breath and vocal techniques.

Paloma Percussion

Paloma is proud to offer a free after-school music performing group to fifth grade students, by audition, as participation is limited to 15 to 20 members. The session is from August through May.  Students will meet once a week. Our percussion ensemble will play a variety of instruments, including drums, and xylophones. Students will earn to perform in a group with songs from a variety of musical styles, including world music.

Student Council

Paloma is growing future leaders! Our Student Council includes members from third through fifth grade. Representatives are elected in their classes by their peers based on leadership qualities and strengths. Student Council students must show a great deal of responsibility by taking notes at monthly meetings and delivering oral presentations to their classmates in an effort to keep all students involved and informed.

All Student Council members are expected to:

  • Show superior leadership skills.
  • Be in good standing with classroom responsibilities, including homework completion.
  • Write clear and organized notes to share with classmates.
  • Show up for events on time and follow through with assigned tasks.
  • Represent a younger class at Paloma by talking to them about upcoming events and obtaining student ideas.

This group of student leaders are under the guidance of Mrs. Dion and Mr. Fred.
